Welcome to Caraoke. By downloading, installing, or using the Caraoke mobile application or website at caraoke.life, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Caraoke, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Caraoke is a mobile karaoke application that allows users to sing along to music videos, score their performances, and share results with friends. The app uses the official YouTube Player API for music video playback.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You may sign up using email/password or Google Sign-In.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You may not create accounts for others without their permission.

4. Subscription and Billing

Caraoke offers a free tier and a Premium subscription at $2.99 per month.

• Free tier users may use the app with limitations including ads.
• Premium subscriptions are billed monthly through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your app store account settings.
• Refunds are subject to the refund policies of Google Play and the Apple App Store.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Caraoke to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Upload or share content that is offensive, defamatory, or infringes on others' rights
• Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or disrupt the service
• Use the app while operating a motor vehicle — Caraoke is intended for passengers only

6. Safety — Passenger Mode

Caraoke is designed exclusively for use by passengers in vehicles, not drivers. By using Caraoke, you acknowledge that you will not use the app while operating a motor vehicle. We provide a Passenger Mode reminder but it is your responsibility to use the app safely. We are not liable for any accidents, injuries, or damages resulting from unsafe use of the app.

7. Third-Party Content

Caraoke uses the official YouTube Player API for music video playback. Your use of YouTube content within Caraoke is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service. Synchronized lyrics are provided by LRCLIB. We are not affiliated with YouTube, Google, or any music rights holder. All music videos and lyrics are the property of their respective owners.

8. Intellectual Property

The Caraoke app, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Caraoke and protected by intellectual property laws. Music videos played through the app remain the property of their respective rights holders. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of our app or content without our written permission.

9. User Content

When you record performances through Caraoke, the recordings are stored locally on your device. You retain full ownership of your recordings. Caraoke does not have access to or control over recordings stored on your device. You are solely responsible for any content you create or share, and for ensuring you have the right to share any content that may include third-party music or imagery.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Caraoke is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the app is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Caraoke shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to damages arising from accidents, loss of data, or unauthorized access to your account.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time within the app settings or by contacting us.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or by email. Continued use of Caraoke after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
